Osun State Governor Assures PDP of his commitment

Governor Adeleke Rejects Defection Rumors, Reaffirms Loyalty to PDP

Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied rumors of defection, reassuring Osun State PDP stakeholders of his full loyalty.

On Wednesday, he released a statement that addressed widespread speculation linked to political realignments in Nigeria.

During a closed-door meeting with PDP leaders at Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke emphasized his party commitment. He credited the PDP for his 2022 electoral win and pledged to keep working under its platform.

“I want to categorically state that I am a proud member of the PDP,” Adeleke told party faithful.

“I will continue to work tirelessly for its growth and success in Osun State and beyond,” he added.

He dismissed the defection rumors as distractions created by enemies trying to sow division in the party.

“My focus is on delivering good governance to Osun people under the PDP banner,” he declared confidently.

Defection Waves Spark Tensions Across Party Lines

Recently, Nigeria has seen a rise in party defections as politicians prepare for the 2027 general elections.

Many prominent figures have switched partiesswitched parties, often citing internal conflicts or better political opportunities elsewhere.

In light of this, Adeleke’s reassurance aims to calm nerves within Osun PDP’s leadership and membership. The PDP holds a strong grip in Osun after defeating the APC in the 2022 gubernatorial race.

According to party sources, social media rumors and opposition comments sparked unrest among loyal PDP members.

A senior party official, requesting anonymity, said Adeleke’s remarks helped restore confidence in his leadership.

“The governor’s words have reassured us that he is in this for the long haul,” the official said.

“We are united under his leadership and ready to face any challenges ahead,” he concluded firmly.

Governor Adeleke remains popular for his energetic image and pledges on youth empowerment and infrastructure growth.

Though the APC has accused him of mismanagement, his statement may now strengthen internal party unity. The reaffirmation could also discourage future defections and fortify PDP’s base ahead of local government elections.

As national leadership struggles continue within the PDP, Adeleke’s loyalty highlights the value of party cohesion.

While the PDP has yet to issue an official reaction, insiders say they plan to amplify his message. They expect to use Adeleke’s stance to rally support and solidify electoral strength at the grassroots level.

More updates are expected as Osun PDP continues organizing and preparing for upcoming political contests.
